Meudon
Ciechanów might be considered as a town with much experience in co-operation with foreign countries. The first agreement concerning co-operation and partnership was signed in 1972 with a French town Meudon. Meudon is a beautiful town with 43,000 inhabitants, situated 9km south-west from Paris. Its history dates back to the Neolithic times. There are many valuable sights in the town, such as: the Rodin Museum, the house of Richard Wagner, the Observatory, the Hermitage Chapel. Several famous people had connections to Meudon, e.g. Madame de Pompadour, Le Grand Dauphin – the son of Louis XIV, Auguste Rodin, and Richard Wagner. Forms of co-operation: sharing knowledge and experience relating to local administration, official visits, cultural exchange, concerts, participation in the Annual Christmas Fairs of twin towns, co-operation of artistic groups, exchange of sports teams, co-operation of schools – shared educational programmes.

Haldensleben
The contract concerning co-operation and partnership with Haldensleben was signed in 1992. The town is situated near Magdeburg and has got a population of 23,000 inhabitants. Haldensleben has got a rich historic past and is one of the important centres of commerce and processing industry. Forms of co-operation: official visits, sharing knowledge and experience relating to local administration and municipal industry companies, youth exchange, cultural co-operation, common artistic workshops, concerts, participation in cultural events in both towns (Alstadtfest, Northern Mazovian Fairs, Kupalnocka, etc.), co-operations of schools (No 1, No 2, No 7), artistic activity of Ciechanów's artist Marek Zalewski in Haldensleben – conferences, open airs, exhibitions.

Chmielnicki
The history of collaboration with Chmielnicki district dates back to the 1970’s. After a few years’ break, the resuming of cooperation came in 1997. Chmielnicki has a population of 300,000 people. It is located in the heart of Ukraine, being the centre for cultural and economic life of Podolia. It has outstanding achievements in the field of structural changes in the economy of the very town and the region. Forms of co-operation: cultural exchange, concerts, participation in cultural events, agency in establishing business relations of both towns, exchange of experience in the field of economic restructuring and social transformation.

Brezno
The contract with Brezno was signed in 2001. It encompasses the issues of culture, sport and schools cooperation. Brezno is the second largest town after Bańska Bystrzyca. It has about 22,000 residents. It is both the capital of the district and upper drainage of the Hron as well as cultural and economic centre of Podolia. The town is located in the valley between Niżne Tatry and Slovenske Rudohorie on an important crossroads linking the Zwolenska Valley with Liptowo, going through Niżne Tatry and the region of Banska Bystrzyca with Rimawska Sobota. Forms of co-operation: cultural exchange, concerts, participation in cultural events, agency in establishing business relations of both towns, exchange of experience in the field of economic restructuring and social transformation.
